Once an event is over, the same image often remains:

A mountain of single-use items and forgotten give-aways, a CO₂ footprint that no-one is able to trace.

Sustainability? For many nothing more than a trend.

A marketing tool and image booster. Too expensive, too complicated, too far away from day-to-day reality.

Don’t you think there’s a better way?

My offer for you

My mission is to make sustainability a core decision-making factor in event planning. Not a certified add-on, but a natural, integrated part of the process.

To achieve that, I work with data-driven insights, professional training workshops for event planners, and strategic consulting during the implementation:

This is my approach

"The barefoot approach is about taking every step in the planning phase of an event consciously about it's impact – as if you were walking barefoot."

Thinking about certificates like ISO 20121 or „Green Events“ to empower sustainable events?
Sure, they can provide guidance, but they fail in guaranteeing a sustainable event.

Real sustainability works only if it contributes by:

Saving resources and budgets instead of driving up costs

Creating experiences that participants truly remember

The key role lies with event planners

  • They pre-select offers, calculate, and  decide what to pitch to the client.
  • They are the link between client, audience, suppliers and artists.

If they have the right skills, they can integrate sustainability naturally in all event phases, through strategically developed goals and processes.

Certified? A nice to have.
Truly sustainable? Only works barefoot!

FAQ

Is this for you?

My services are designed for event planning teams, from festivals to corporate events, that want to make a real sustainable impact. Whether you’re a small team or large agency, experience-driven or brand-focused: you’ll get targeted support that fits your specific needs.

What exactly do I offer?

My portfolio ranges from data-based sustainability reporting and team workshops to strategic sustainability consulting. For details, download the full service overview below.

Where is Barefoot Event Consulting based?

Barefoot Event Consulting is registered as an OÜ in Estonia, operating within the EU and its laws and regulations. As a digital nomad, I work location-independently and can support you wherever you are.

Can you hire me to plan sustainable events?

I don’t manage operational event planning myself. Instead, I empower event professionals to confidently integrate sustainability into all planning phases, across all project sizes and industries.

Do I offer ISO 20121 or similar certifications?

Certifications like ISO 20121 are process-oriented and don’t guarantee truly sustainable events. Still, they can have benefits, if rooted in real sustainable decisions.

I’ll gladly support your path to certification: While an external auditor must conduct the formal audit, I’ll help you prepare strategically and structurally, while keeping the focus on real impact.

Can I support you short noted or just for single project phases?

Yes! My services are modular and flexible. Whether you need targeted advice, support for a specific project phase, or broader training and strategy. here you’ll find what you need.

Are there any references or example projects?

During my time as event manager and sustainability expert at Proske, I supported several client projects in sustainable event strategy. As a newly founded business, public references are still in development, so I’m currently offering discounts for first-time clients.

What makes me a strong consultant and trainer?

I combine academic sustainability knowledge with real-world event experience. In addition, my sessions are enriched with travel stories that make complex topics comprehensive and relatable. As a digital nomad, I live by the principles I teach, driven by the desire to share what I’ve learned and inspire change.

What does working together look like?

We start with a free 45-minute orientation call, where we define your expectations and challenges. You’ll then receive a compact one-pager with my assessment and a potential roadmap. From there, we continue with tailored training, strategic consulting, or specific project support, whatever fits your goals best.
